Hey Firefox friends! 👋
We’re trying something new and would love your help.
Features like tab groups, vertical tabs, profiles, new tab wallpapers, PWAs, and taskbar pinning weren’t just ideas – they were direct responses to what you told us you wanted. Your input has helped shape where Firefox is today, and we’re proud of what we’ve built together. We’re listening, we’ve been listening, and we’re excited to keep building a better browser together.
Starting now, we’re trying something new.
A series of quick check-ins to hear where you’re at, what’s on your mind, and what you really want from Firefox. These surveys will help shape Firefox features and give you more direct ways to connect with the people building your favorite browser.
Just honest questions, and space for honest answers.
We're thinking about how we engage with this community, and we’re planning a community AMA (Ask Me Anything) with Firefox product managers.
Let’s start with questions to help us plan the AMA, and a fun one at the end.
What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to ask the Firefox team?
Drop it in the comments! It might get answered during our upcoming AMA.
Which topics should we cover during the AMA?
(Some suggestions, or you can add your own below)
Which animal best represents your Firefox browsing style?
Thanks for being part of the Firefox journey 💜

Hello, I'm a Dolphin and an Anti-Squirrel. I regularly destroy hundreds of tabs and like exploring.
Split View is lacking. I'm constantly multitasking and working with different documents at the same time, such as Canva, Google Docs, and Excel.
Make the Android interface and themes more flexible. Since quarantine began, the browser has become more than just a tool. There used to be themes, by the way. I think... It was a long time ago.
I would like more flexibility in the interface, which Vivaldi offers. However, it's clear that Firefox is more focused on browser development itself.
That's what interests me about the browser.
I've been with you for over a year, although I was here before 2017 until Chrome came between us.
I have a few questions, one of which is what a typical workday looks like for you. How do you feel about feedback from Reddit? There's often a lot of negativity there, and people feel disconnected on Mozilla Connect. One frustrated user claimed that posts here don't make any noise.
I remember trying to sign up for a user study, but I think they skipped me. It would be fun to see some crazy ideas.
I'm concerned about the lack of Cyrillic languages in AI features, as well as the fact that many of your good ideas go unnoticed. Orbit could clearly be improved, although the sidebar developed under Ania's leadership has surpassed its functionality.
That's a lot of questions, but it's nice to meet you!

I'm also interested in your expectations regarding the user base and the mysterious YouTube freezes.
Fewer users means fewer sites pay attention to performance on Firefox. This is somewhat disappointing, though little has changed for me as a user. It mainly breaks on some particularly clunky sites. Thankfully, most sites appear normal or, with the help of Firefox, don't reveal their true nature.
However, the graph is falling inexorably, and it's unclear how many users blocking ad blockers will bring. It's amusing to realize that using an ad blocker isn't an obvious skill.
Without it, though, it's like not wearing a gas mask.
On Reddit, people constantly complain about YouTube freezing. It seems like magic to me because it's never happened to me.
Maybe I'm tolerant of delays, or maybe it's because I pay for it. Or maybe I'm not included in their A/B testing. Some people theorize that it's monopolistic machinations. I don't like conspiracy theories; I prefer real data. Maybe there's an extension that could log what's happening inside the YouTube page and reveal this mystery.
Many people are mourning the loss of Pocket, especially Fakespot. Are they gone for good, or will they resurface in a new incarnation? It seems like a lot of people used these two acquired companies' services.
Oof.
Anyway, how's your summer going? It's been nothing but heat here.

Okay, and my little headache. Try right-clicking in Google Docs and selecting Paste.
All right, I'll use Ctrl+V, my dear dialog box. Yes, don't ruin my mood.
I'm already inclined to conspiracy theories. Clearly, they have implemented paste in a complicated way.

I use Mullvad, which blocks trackers. I really like it, but it also disables Mozilla telemetry.
What percentage of your users do you estimate have telemetry disabled, and how much does this affect your decisions?
Perhaps you can see this through Firefox Sync, although I won't speculate on that.
Any news item that mentions telemetry or terms of service causes slight panic because the active part of the community reacts strongly to what they perceive as a reduction in freedom.
I remember when people thought Firefox was selling their data wholesale because of the wording of your terms of service. That caused quite a stir.
You eventually published a blog post explaining the situation, and the panic subsided.
Also there was that incident with PPA.
I sincerely believe releasing a comic strip a few weeks in advance, featuring the fox from the error messages, about some planned changes that could be interpreted differently, might have helped. But that's just fantasy. Or maybe not.
I do like that character, though.

> You eventually published a blog post explaining the situation, and the panic subsided.
Did it though? I think the problematic terms were never substantially fixed. To me, firefox has since become toxic purely because of the terms. Many other browsers don't have such concerning terms of use.

As a web app developer these are the APIs that would most help users of my software on Firefox:
Here is a crazy pie-in-the-sky one:
Thank you for opening up this channel for feedback, it's hugely appreciated!

I have a hunch this can be attributed to the proliferation of negative advertising aka astroturfing which is all over Reddit. In other words I don't think this is actually a problem. If it is actually a problem people I would guess it either caused by extensions, the connection itself, or user error

Hello, thank you for Firefox, for developing it.
The most requested features like tabs grouping, vertical tabs, pwa, profiles have made our lives better) we are very grateful for it, we are happy together.
I think you need to focus on 3 things, optimization, features and design
Of course, we need periodic comprehensive improvements to the browser, not forgetting about small ideas that may be noticed, but the main thing we need is
For the PC version
Optimization:
(Faster page loading), this is probably the most important thing we want, Firefox really lags behind in terms of page loading speed compared to other browsers, do you have any plans to improve the speed or does it require some seriously complex engine changes?
We also need to reduce resource consumption, at least an improved sleep function for tabs to reduce the consumption of RAM.
Features:
Workspaces, this is a very convenient modern feature that in 1-2 clicks changes our browser, dividing the view into categories...
Split Site Screen is also an important feature that is already available in all browsers, it will also allow us to compare different products, texts...
Portable version for Windows, it will also be + 1 feature for security, it is similar to container programs in Linux.
Design:
Icons in the menu and in the context menus, let's bring back, we are more likely to navigate by icons.
More rounded horizontal tabs should match the rounded vertical tabs.
A new browser icon, it's been a long time since the icon was changed, let's change it.
New color instead of the perennial purple.
New animation of a circle or a loading line on the tabs, it will be more informative than the 3 dots animation.
Mobile version.
Optimization:
(Fixing the problem of unloading reloading tabs), this is the most frustrating thing for us, that we don't want to launch the browser(
Faster page loading, the mobile version also needs faster page loading.
Features:
Ability to choose your own wallpaper for a new tab, this will give us the ability to customize the browser for ourselves, we don't have enough standard wallpapers, give us freedom🙏
Grouping of tabs, thanks for grouping tabs on PC, but we also need it on phones, because it is difficult to navigate among many tabs(
Workspaces, it would be nice to have also in the mobile version to divide by categories.
And please let us know in advance what stages of development this or that feature is in. Thank you!
I 🐬 Dolphin

Yeah I too need more improvements in mobile browser as well.
07-15-2025 12:32 PM
You sound like there is a lever in Mozilla's HQ office called «Optimization», and the CEO for some whatever evil reason keeps it off...
07-14-2025 05:03 PM
heya, i was wondering if there was a way to revert back to older ui designs on ios? the ui change is unpleasant to put it lightly. cluttered thanks to the lack of inactive tabs for some reason and everything is not in it’s right place no more.
hope that you have a good week

Hello I'm an Owl. I'm a Firefox Android user and i use All three version of firefox and Firefox focus (beta).
Recently i have seen that Firefox Nightly had an option to use Tab bars but the problem is it is doesn't support Bottom option. I hope you have more exciting ideas so i'm waiting for it and i also want Perplexity AI in Firefox Android like Firefox desktop.
I'm also an user of Firefox Focus and i think it need some features like Bottom address bar and multiple tabs like Firefox. Also it has option to only have 4 Shortcuts at a time, would be happy to have more.
Thank you Firefox.....

One thing I’ve always wanted to ask the Firefox team is: How do you prioritize performance for resource-heavy web apps or games? Especially for people using browser-based or cloud gaming services — it would be amazing to know if there are upcoming features focused on stability and speed.
Also, I’d love to see more integration or tips on optimizing Firefox for gaming. For example, I recently came across this guide on optimizing browsers for games like CarX Street, and it made me realize how much impact browser settings can have on gaming performance.
As for the animal, I’d say I’m definitely a Owl — I like to plan, use profiles, and keep everything super organized (most of the time!).
Looking forward to the AMA and all the new features coming up. Thanks for making Firefox better every day!

Firefox still needs quiet a lot of improvements
1) Split view feature is becoming default in all the browsers
2) Firefox android needs performance improvements
3) The tab bar in the nightly android is actually very nice. Just let us use it on the bottom of the phone screen.

Hello! I think that Firefox is the most beautiful and customizable browser. There are not so many that I want to be implemented:
07-15-2025 05:32 AM
What a great post - thank you!!
I'll try to keep it simple.
I'm defenetly an Owl and a Dophin (I switch browsers quite often to test new features for example).
I use a Browser primarly for work purposes (it covers more than 80% of my time online). Since I'm using a browser primary for work I need some productivity tools out of the box.
Firefox implemented very well the vertical tabs, tab groups and PnP (it is one of the best implementations out there) however there are some things missing that will defenetly make me switch to Firefox as the ONLY browsing app. Currently I use Firefox as my secondary browser for my personal browsing and what is missing (for me at least) are these features:
Let's say that the first 3 are mandatory for my workflow.
And now for the good part: Firefox is the ONLY browser company that has people like you, that ask its user base for feedback and as far as I'm cencerned this also is what makes browsing with Firefox the right thing to do.
Thank you and keep up the great work you're doing.

Workspaces! Recently, I tried Vivaldi and it looks great, the UI is very smooth and polished. It’s a pleasure to work in Vivaldi. The tabs look good (not like buttons), the workspaces are fantastic, and the sidebar is just a bonus. Customization options are also very good in Vivaldi. And of course workspaces in the Android version. And of course I’d love to see workspaces implemented in the Android version as well.

I would extend tab groups to tab folders, and integrate them with bookmark folders, as special dynamic bookmark folders (a checkbox per folder would mark bookmark folders that can be opened as tab folders). This way, you add tab group/folder sync with zero effort as well, via the already existing bookmarks sync.
In my opinion, this solution is better than any other that exists currently, because it lets you integrate tab groups and bookmarks, without having to turn all bookmark folders into a tab group—like Arc does for example, which I thought I liked but it really just breaks organization. Having only a select few bookmark folders be openable as tab folders would be perfect. We might even be able to open any subfolder of a dynamic folder as a tab folder.
The main challenge with this, besides the obvious effort required to implement it, is handling horizontal tabs. This works fine for vertical tabs, but maybe it's a challenge for the classical horizontal setup.
07-15-2025 07:54 AM
Workspaces is definitely one of the features that I feel like I'm missing, as others have said, but I also think that FireFox needs better screen sharing options. While we have the ability to share windows or the full screen, Chrome and it's various forks all have the ability to share a specific tab. In fact, I much prefer the window for picking what's shared in Chrome et al, because it allows me to directly choose in the UI, rather than having to mouse over what I want to share.
These are some business forward features that I think Firefox needs to start focusing on, and I think Enterprise is what Firefox needs to be thinking about more than anything.

Hello Firefox team, An owl! I will like to see better optimization! i mean less resource usage in part of the browser, i have a mid range desktop PC which there works pretty well and i don't have many problems but i tested out Firefox in low-mid low end computers, laptops, Android mobile devices and is almost unusable, i would like to see a performance, stability, optimization pass in all platforms, also more focus in the mobile apps (Android, iOS) which they still are missing features like, extension support, ad block in iOS and site Isolation,Tab groups, better UI design in the android version.
I think that for now the browser have all the standard features that a modern browser should have, at least in desktop, the only thing that is missing is Split View, but for the rest is pretty solid and enough, you should now focus in the Gecko engine, web page performance and less resource usage, Thanks for this amazing browser!.

Oh awesome, we'll take a look at that thread too!
07-15-2025 09:43 AM
Yes, some threads that were supposed to be here ended up on Reddit by some twist of fate.
Is there a dashboard for tracking what people are talking about on the subreddit? Many of the topics are quite similar.
Many people really want HDR, which is as important to them as Split View is to me.

1. Please, Tab grouping on Android. And Tab grouping by default. And by that, I mean, when I click an hyperlink in Wikipedia (for example), it opens it in, or automatically creates, a tab group. I don't like having to create them manually, like with the current collections.
2. You need to start adding or enabling more extensions in Android (basics, like print friendly and video downloaders). That was what made Firefox stand out from the rest. Now Edge and others (Quetta) are starting to step on your heels.
3. Also, split screen on desktop (and Android).
07-16-2025 04:40 AM
This, and full tab bar support on Android (and in general bring Android up to par with Desktop firefox - extensions, keyboard shortcuts, the rest).

What have I always wanted to ask the Firefox team?
Why is Firefox not trying to outdo other browsers by making their features work better than Chrome, Safari or Brave does them?
What kind of browser are you trying to build, one that is good, fast, private and extensible or bloated with AI, coins, or other garbage that distracts from browsing?
Which topics should we cover during the AMA?
What is the long term focus?
Why no focus on privacy? We want a browser that doesn't collect or sell information to others or turn us into a commodity as users.
Will there be a choice to pay for privacy in the future?
Which animal best represents your Firefox browsing style?
A mix of Owl, Cheetah and Squirrel.

I want a built-in Adguard ad filter. Adguard is open source, and you can try to build Adguard into Firefox to protect your privacy. You've always been negative about ad blocking, but Brave and Librewolf have built-in ad filtering plugins. It's also important to say that it must be Adguard, don't use ublock. Because Adguard has more languages, includes a lot of ad filtering rules, and has a detailed introduction, the user experience is higher than that of ublock. ublock contains fewer ad filtering rules, and I don't know the usefulness of ad filtering rules, so there is no corresponding introduction.
07-15-2025 11:08 AM
All due respect, Adguard has an extension that is quite functional. The better focus is on extension performance and privacy at the forefront. Should I need Adguard or UOrigin? Don't build in things if you can make the need for them obsolete.
07-15-2025 11:20 AM
I'm talking about the AdGuard browser extension. Firefox should have a built-in ad filter like brave and librewolf. Ad filters are effective in protecting privacy by filtering not only ads, but also tracking scripts. If it weren't built-in, no one would know that there was a thing in the world called an ad filter. I recommend using Adguard because it's easier to report back to the Adguard team when you encounter ads that aren't filtered
07-15-2025 11:25 AM
I don't think you understand, it doesn't need to be built in to the browser. I want to decide what is installed and is not installed, not have to use AdGuard. That's FOSS. Plus the money to license AdGuard to connect it to Firefox like that is likely not realistic when they are possibly going to loose all the Google money. My two cents.
07-16-2025 11:20 AM
I think you're funny. Previously, Firefox didn't have an https-only feature, so if you want to use https only, you need to install a browser extension. Now Firefox has an https-only feature, do you want to suggest removing this feature, and those who want this feature can install a browser extension. Firefox has recently added the ability to randomize canvas browser fingerprints, and there are some extensions that make this possible. Do you want to remove the fingerprint randomization feature of the canvas browser, and if you want this feature, you can install a browser extension.
07-15-2025 11:07 AM
I want more random browser fingerprinting, currently only canvas browser fingerprinting can be randomized, but there are many other browser fingerprints that can't be randomized. For example, webGL, webGPU, font, AudioContext, ClientRects, time zone
07-15-2025 11:12 AM
The waterfox team and fastly have teamed up to launch a new privacy technology called DNS over Oblivious HTTP (DoOH). My suggestion is that you also roll out this technology and use it in your Firefox. This is good for privacy, and here's the information about it.
https://www.waterfox.net/blog/waterfox-in-partnership-with-fastly/
07-15-2025 11:16 AM
There are two encrypted dns built into Firefox, which are cloudflare and nextdns. Recently, the European Union introduced a new encrypted DNS called DNS4EU. Hopefully you guys will have this dns built into Firefox. Below is the unfiltered version of DNS for DNS4EU.

I want to improve the ability to import bookmarks from other browsers. I have a lot of bookmarks in edge and chrome, each in a different folder, but when I import the bookmarks, it all imports them to Firefox at once, and then it causes my Firefox bookmarks to be messy. The feature I need is that I can choose one of the bookmark folders to import, and only import the bookmarks inside one folder, which will be more tidy. I can import them one by one.
07-15-2025 07:47 PM
Try Floccus?
07-19-2025 04:49 AM
1. Export : https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/selective-bookmarks-expor/dkbihgadoohejmlhpffffbmbhmkhjbfi
2. Import : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmark-branch-porter/
Not saying that this is an good solution, but as long as firefox and chrome dont support partial imports/exports this is at least a workaround.
Hope it helps.
